MobilityATX Town Hall Event – June 23 at Google Fiber

IMG_9556Last month, Green Fern Events helped produce another stellar and environmentally sustainable event for our progressive Austin Community. MobilityATX (produced by Glasshouse Policy, RideScout as well as other local partners) held its final town hall meeting at Google Fiber, Tuesday June 23 to discuss Austin’s transportation challenges. With close to 200 in attendance, the event was streamed live by ATXN – the City of Austin’s government channel. The town hall panel was moderated by KUT’s Terrence Henry and included distinguished speakers: Mayor Adler – CoA, Tyson Tuttle – CEO Silicon Labs, Linda Watson – CEO Capital Metro, Joseph Kopser – CEO RideScout, and Larry Graham – Downtown Austin Alliance.

IMG_9552Among the many highlights of the evening, Tesla provided three lucky winners the opportunity to take home one of its luxury electric vehicles for 24 hours! Thanks, Tesla! You made us and three other people very happy indeed. In addition, RideScout brought some of their very cool electric cabs and offered free rides for participants around downtown.
IMG_9553During the event, RideScout CEO Joseph Kopser announced the launch of their new downtown shuttle pilot which is designed to help ease some of Austin’s traffic pain. This new service provides air-conditioned rides from 7am to 1pm on weekdays on a rectangular route along Trinity, Sixth, Guadalupe and Second streets. Great stuff RideScout!
The event was also a great success thanks to the delicious food and catering services provided by The Peached Tortilla. And of course, last but not least, thank you Deep Eddy Vodka for providing delicious cocktails to for the opening reception. Google Fiber continues to set the bar for hosting high-quality high-profile events for Austin at its new state of the art facility downtown Austin.
